In a world where it seems everything has been done and there is no creative avenue left to explore anew, along comes an artist like KC Lockrem that blows you away with her stunningly unique perspective. Channeling her vibrant energy into her colorful pieces, your eye is continually drawn from one fascinating detail to another. "Layers of fabric, gold leaf, print work, candy wrappers, swatches of old paintings and traditional painting and drawing techniques generate personal depth and artistic narration."
KC's work has been exhibited from coast to coast in galleries and museums since 1991. She received her BFA in Painting from the School of Visual Arts in New York City and has studied painting at RISD, the University of Arizona, the Art Institute of Chicago and the San Francisco Art Institute as well as spending numerous summers at the Anderson Ranch Art Center in Snowmass, Colorado learning from a variety of the "greats" like James Surls, Jane Hammond, Deb Oden and Willie Birch. In 2014 KC approached her brother, award winning photographer Brown W. Cannon III about collaborating and their stunning new series was born.
Photographer Brown W. Cannon III fearlessly exposes his audience to landscapes, people and moments. "Brown's photographs create a visceral connection that draws us in, yet his presence behind the lens is quiet." It's as if you've found yourself transported to the foreign landscape in the blink of an eye. Brown studied photography at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California and graduated with honors in the Fall of 1999. He was named one of the 30 under 30 photographers to watch by PDN. "Brown's gifted eye, artist's mind and unparalleled skill with a camera have been gracing internationally acclaimed magazines, garnered him world-wide acclaim and delighting photography collectors and enthusiasts across the globe." He is a regular contributor to Travel & Leisure, Sunset, Conde Nast, Men's Journal, Outside, Audubon, and Geo Saison to name a few.
