Downtown Bend, Oregon's Art Walk for March is a special one. In collaboration with this weekend's Muse Conference, we will be highlighting the artwork of some of the phenomenal female artists within our community. Hot Box Betty has the honor of featuring the work of local artist, Sheila Dunn.
Sheila's unique work immediately draws you in emotionally, her use of blocks of color engage both your heart and your mind as you peruse the landscape of her colorful paintings.
"The Here and Now" by Sheila Dunn.
"These paintings also explore the complexity and beauty of the feminine. They represent an ever-expanding embrace of my own femininity and acknowledgement of a certain strength found only in vulnerability and tenderness. In a culture that – at times subtly and at times overtly – expects women to be at once sexual and virginal, strong but not overbearing, sensitive but not too emotional, I aim to represent women who define sensuality, strength and sensitivity on their own terms," Sheila Dunn.
"Disintegration" by Sheila Dunn.
We were thrilled when Sheila agreed to let us dress her up for a few photos, as she is not only a stunning artist and a beautiful old soul, she just happens to be gorgeous as well.
